New release: ZEUS v0.12.0
This release features Nostr Wallet Connect service functionality, circular channel rebalancing, improved activity views, and more.
Today, we're announcing the wide availability of ZEUS v0.12.0, including on the Apple App Store, and Google Play.
This release features Nostr Wallet Connect service functionality, circular channel rebalancing, improved activity views, and more.
Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC)

In v0.10.0, we introduced Nostr Wallet Connect as a way to connect ZEUS to external wallets. With v0.12.0, we're flipping the script: ZEUS can now act as an NWC server, allowing Nostr clients to connect to your wallet and make payments on your behalf.
This means you can zap directly from apps like Damus, Amethyst, Primal, and other Nostr clients—all powered by your self-custodial ZEUS wallet.
On Android, the NWC service can run persistently in the background, listening for incoming payment requests. On iOS, we've implemented a handoff service to handle requests when the app isn't in the foreground.
Each connection can be configured with its own budget limits, expiry dates, and permissions. You can also specify custom Nostr relays for each connection, and enable ecash support for connections tied to embedded wallets.
To create a Nostr Wallet Connect connection, navigate to Tools > Nostr Wallet Connect service in the app.
Circular channel rebalancing
Remote node runners can now perform circular rebalancing directly within ZEUS. This allows you to shift liquidity between your channels by routing a payment from one of your channels back to another, optimizing your channel balances without involving external parties.
To access this feature, navigate to Tools > Circular Rebalancing.
WIF sweep support
Wallet import format support? Yep, it's finally here. Now you can sweep funds from an OpenDime, making ZEUS a great companion wallet to recommend for when you dish out those wedding and birthday presents.

Activity improvements
We've enhanced the Activity screen to give you better visibility into your wallet operations.
Channel and swap orders now appear in your Activity list, so you can track pending and completed orders alongside your payments and invoices. We've also added collapsible filters for services, with nested filters for submarine swaps, reverse swaps, and order status.
You can also now scan addresses and invoices directly from the swap views, making it easier to initiate swaps without switching between screens.
New default invoice behavior
Previously, we were generating unified invoices, when users would create an invoice from the keypad view. The unified invoices would contain both an Lightning invoice and an on-chain address. The thinking here is that this would allow users who had wallets that didn't have Lightning to still pay their invoices.
As time has gone on, Lightning has become the de facto payments rails. Furthermore, generating an on-chain address for every invoice has proven to be problematic, especially for heavy usage mobile users, trying to recover funds.
The new default invoice behavior is to generate a standalone Lightning invoice. Users who want an on-chain address to receive to can either hit the advanced toggle underneath an invoice and specify 'Unified' or 'On-chain' or specifically generate an on-chain under underneath the on-chain balance slider.
Users who want to revert back to the original invoice behavior can do so under Settings > Invoices > Default invoice type.
Battery saver warning
ZEUS will now warn you when battery saver mode is enabled on your device during Embedded LND startup. Battery saver modes can interfere with background processes and may cause reliability issues with your Lightning node, so it's best to disable them when running an embedded wallet.
Bug fixes and improvements
This release also includes numerous bug fixes and improvements:
- Fixed iCloud backup storage handling on iOS
- Fixed routing hints when auto-generating 0-amount invoices
- Improved Switch component compatibility with iOS 26
- Improved bc-ur QR code scanning performance
Next up
We're fleshing out Cashu ecash support and building upon our new graduated wallet. You can get more insight into that with my talk from bitcoin++ in Berlin. Tons of UX improvements are underway to make ZEUS the ultimate wallet for newcomer to hardcore remote node runners, and everyone in between.
As always, thank you to our community sponsors, contributors, and everyone who has provided feedback during the alpha and beta periods. Your support keeps this project moving forward.
